For broken or spaced teeth, the solution is bioclear

The future is here!

Is one (or more) of your teeth not like the others?

If you’d like to make it a team player, Bioclear may be your new best bet.

Non-invasive, stain-resistant, and hard as nails, Bioclear is a biocompatible resin composite — made of powdered glass quartz, silica, or ceramic particles to last you long term! It looks natural — while shaping the teeth you want in one sitting. (The results below took two hours with no freezing!)

It’s a new technology we’re proud to offer here at Oceana. But is it right for you?

What does Bioclear do?

Bioclear offers a new way to restore your teeth, or otherwise reform them. Its abilities go beyond fixing imperfections like gaps, chips, and irregularities (though it tackles those, too). Bioclear also strengthens your teeth beneath the surface while offering 10-15 years of pearly white wear. Think of it as a digital retouch for your smile — in real life!

So when is it needed?

When Bioclear does it best

Bioclear is a solution suitable for anyone hoping to enhance their smile. It’s a high-quality, minimally invasive option for meeting any cosmetic goals that will make you feel your best. These could include:

  1. Reshaping your teeth
  2. Closing gaps between teeth
  3. Smoothing jagged, chipped, or cracked teeth

So what are the alternatives?

1. Brace yourself! (Or not).

If you don’t want to opt for traditional braces and spend months shifting the positioning of your teeth, Bioclear can create the appearance of a straighter smile. By filling in gaps and smoothing rough angles, it can make your teeth look more uniform. If they’re only a little crooked, Bioclear could be a great option!

2. Veer away from veneers

Veneers can be a natural-looking option to conceal the teeth beneath, but they’re also more invasive than Bioclear (involving the shaving of enamel). Because they require enamel to be shaved, veneers aren’t reversible, while Bioclear is. Veneers can also be more time consuming, requiring additional appointments for molds and impressions.

3. You could consider crowns

While crowns can offer another alternative to Bioclear, they’re very invasive.

However, sometimes they’re the best option depending on the strength of your tooth! In all cases, whether you’re considering crowns, veneers, braces, or Bioclear, it’s essential to consult your dentist to find the best option for you.

How can I keep my Bioclear shining?

(Because proper care is always important)!

1. Amp up the oral hygiene

Healthy teeth are Priority #1! Brush, floss, and rinse daily.

2. Regular dental check-ups

Again, this shouldn’t change what you’re already doing (if you’re making regular appointments with your dentist)! If your Bioclear requires any adjustments, your dentist can make them then.

3. Support Bioclear’s stain resistance

Bioclear is pretty resistant to stains, but it will look its best if you treat it like natural teeth. Avoid too much coffee, red wine, or tobacco. Or, when partaking, don’t forget to brush!

Bioclear — Your smile’s new best friend?

At Oceana, we’re not about telling anyone they need to change the appearance of their smile.

All teeth are beautiful, and the most important thing is to keep them healthy (as well as your gums, tongue, and surrounding structures)!

If you think you’d like to refresh the look of your pearly whites, Bioclear is a minimally invasive option that doesn’t damage your teeth. And for long-lasting results, it may be your best bet.

Dr. Gaudet graduated as a doctor of medicine in dentistry (DMD) from the University of Montréal in 1998. Since then, she has spent thousands of hours on advanced training throughout Canada and around the world. With experience, she has found that the “drill and fill” approach to dentistry does not make for long term success in dental and overall health. Her research and education has inspired her to take a global health approach to dental care using an evidence-based system to address the whole body. “Many dental and oral health issues relate to lifestyle habits and/or underlying health issues,” she says. “The goal of Oceana Dental’s comprehensive new patient examination is to find the root cause of disease in the oral cavity so it doesn’t progress and cause more harm to the patient’s overall health.” Commenting on the pace of technological improvement and the advances in research, she says, “it’s a great time to be a dentist!”
